Allen Massie and Valerie Marcotte travel to Pucallpa, Peru for a yearly medical missionary trip. Allen has been making this dedicated journey since 1997 while 2004 was the first trip for Valerie. This mission allows them to perform over 250 hearing tests and distribute over 110 hearing aids to the Shapibo Indians of Pucallpa. Typically, over 750 patients are able to receive medical treatment with the additional help of surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists that are part of this missionary team. The South American Mission sponsors this trip with support from Allen’s local church along with ENT Associates of Greater Dayton and Hillcrest Hearing Aids. This trip would not be possible without hearing aid donations from patients and assistance from our hearing aid manufacturers. Donations are always welcome throughout the year and are tax deductible.
